A BRIEF HISTORY OF AMY'S BOOT CAMP:

"AMY'S BOOT CAMP" was born in Hebron, KY in 2014.  

During my 25 years of training both individuals and groups, I have never had so much fun pushing people and helping them get into shape! It has been a true pleasure that I literally woke up and look forward to each day. I have watched people completely change their health and lose weight that never thought they could. I love these transformations and now that I have completed my move to the Lakeside Park/Fort Mitchell area, I can’t wait to watch the energy flow here! I love helping others find happiness in life through the gateway of fitness and that’s what I plan to do. Fitness is a priority and people, especially us mom’s (I am a mother of four myself!) need to find the time and resources to put themselves first. I am looking forward to helping bring this community together, much the same as I did in Hebron, by helping moms and all women alike find new beginnings in health! While eventually I would love to also include programs for men/children, I vow to put this mission first: To help each and every client that seeks out Amy’s Boot Camp create a transformation story through fat loss, nutrition, mindset, fitness goals, and an amazing environment to do it in! Let’s get started on this new endeavor! Welcome Boot Campers!

WELCOME TO AMY'S BOOT CAMP!
   After years of teaching a variety of fitness classes as well as being passionate about one on one Personal Training, I have decided to expand on helping others work toward their health/fitness goals by creating a program that WORKS! Come and support one another and accomplish new goals! I got a lot of response in regards to Personal Training, but in addition a lot of requests for something a little more affordable.....so here it is! Campers will experience a well rounded, purposeful workout including circuit training, agility drills, cardiovascular as well as resistance training. Prices will be $5 per camper, or you can buy a 5 class punch-card for $20! Lose weight, gain confidence, meet and exceed your goals= Priceless!! All levels are welcome and encouraged....so be sure to tell a friend!

MY WORKOUT PHILOSOPHY:

Gyms are typically not viewed as the ideal atmosphere, conducive to focused workouts. This is especially true if a person feels particularly uncomfortable in this setting (as most of us do).
With this feeling comes an easy excuse for not showing up regularly enough to see results, which can in turn cause defeatism.
Eliminate all of this from the equation!  And work out on your time with no gym fees and no pressure!

I have been working out the last 5 years with a group trainer. I would always see ladies working out at North Pointe School since I live right around the corner. It looked like the group worked out hard but also it didn't appear to be the same workout each time I passed. I didn't think I would be able to get the same workout that I was use to, but boy was I wrong!! After the first workout I told my husband "Amy kicked my butt!" I also enjoyed the group of ladies, which made it that much better! I was very skeptical but so very glad I tried it. I mentioned it to a friend that also does the group fitness at Town and Country and she drives from Cold Springs to workout with Amy. I recommend if you have been even thinking about attending, you should just do it!! You will not regret it, I promise!

I’ve been coming to Amy’s Boot Camp since it started and love it! I’m someone who always played team sports so I needed to find something that was more interactive…I CAN go out and go for a run, but if you know me, distance running definitely is not my favorite lol. I get bored easily and like to switch it up often. Amy’s Boot Camp is perfect because we’re constantly doing a variety of workouts – there’s something for everyone. Not only that, this boot camp is definitely a total body workout…I’ve been able to drop some pounds AND tone, which is probably more important to me than weight loss itself. Also, I definitely have much more energy than I did before I started coming. I love any type of stations, drills, and love to work in teams – I’m used to being competitive and working with others…I also like a challenge. That being said, in being a part of boot camp since the beginning, I’ve witnessed a lot of people’s “first day”. Many newcomers come in a little nervous and afraid they’ll “hold others back” or that they’ll embarrass themselves. But…they quickly learn that there’s nothing to be nervous about or intimidated by -we’ve all been there! Unlike some classes, this group is made up of the most supportive and encouraging ladies I’ve ever been around (and that’s including any teams I’ve been a part of, so that’s saying something ). Plus, I do plenty of ridiculous & embarrassing things, so no worries lol. Besides reaching some of my personal goals, Amy’s boot camp has allowed me to see the moment when others reach their goals, which to me, has been the most inspiring part of all! I speak from experience when I say that the first couple weeks are challenging - you’ll be sore! But trust me when I say, it’s all worth it…if you come and stick with it, you’ll see – out of the blue something will click and you’ll be able to run when before you could only walk, be able to do an exercise that you couldn’t before, lift heavier weights, etc. The hardest part is just showing up the first time, after that, you’ll want to come back! We’ll be there to help you! Just jump in – I promise it’s worth it!

I've been going to Amy's Bootcamp since she started it. I am obsessed. I have done it all in the past. Kickboxing, yoga, Zumba, other bootcamps, step aerobics...you name it I've tried it. My favorite by far is the bootcamp atmosphere to work out and Amy's Bootcamp is awesome! Her workouts are always changing, always different and always fun. I have seen so much difference in my muscle tone since I've started. I probably have more muscle than I've ever had and it gets me motivated to keep going and work harder. If you're afraid to start b/c you may not be in shape enough, trust me, don't wait. THIS will get you into shape. You can start small and build your way up and Amy is great at catering to all ages, sizes and fitness levels. This is a super fun way to work out and the best part is becoming friends with the other ladies who come. I love it!!

So in the 4 weeks I've come to boot camp, I can honestly say I can feel the burn. I think the punch cards are great. My goal is to come 3 times a week. I bring my sister so I'll have a partner. My biggest thing is the teams. I'm not in the best shape like many of the others and I I'm afraid I'll get paired with someone I can't keep up with. I think class is fun and I like that it changes. The hour really does fly and I feel like I'm working harder than I have before.

"I've been going to Amy's Boot Camp for almost 5 months now but it took me 6 months to work up the courage to go. I really wasn't overweight but I definitely wasn't fit so I was very concerned I'd look like a fool participating in a boot camp class. I had been one of those independent workout people; I'd walk or use the treadmill at home or put in a workout DVD from time to time. There is certainly nothing wrong with those workouts but I wasn't getting the results I wanted so I felt like I needed more. I'm not going to sugar-coat it, the first few boot camp classes were tough but that only showed me just how much I really needed to get into shape. Amy was SO supportive and the other gals in the class were VERY encouraging so it drove me to keep going back. Everyone in the class is at different fitness level so you do the best workout "you" can do and you progress at your own pace but there is accountability there and we all challenge each other and that's what my independent workouts were missing. Before I knew it I was /feeling stronger, had more endurance and started to see a more toned "me" Hooray!."
